Tree of life, as a symbol of life, represents the underground, earth and the sky with its roots, trunk, and leaves. In the Asian Shamanist tradition, it was an element of rituals, births, festival, and weddings. There are many meanings of it such as the cosmos, the heaven, immortality, eternity, growth, and ancestry. According to tradition, earth connects with the core of the sky with this tree and feeds on it.
The inspiration for this collection was the tree of life in Turkish culture and the collection competed in the Wedding Dress Design Contest under the ‘timeless culture’ theme.
The wedding dress that selected to produce represented the roots, bodice, and branches of the tree of life with its form. It was embroidered handcrafted bead embroidery and pipe manipulations.
This collection was awarded the 2nd prize in the 8th Wedding Dress Design Contest.
